Lauren C. Roth Venu
President

Lauren C. Roth Venu is the Founder and President of Roth Ecological Design. She is a leader in integrated systems planning and ecological design. In 1999, Lauren began her work in applied ecological design under the aegis of John Todd, a renowned pioneer and inventor of ecologically engineered technologies. In 2000, she and Todd brought the Living Machine technology to Hawai'i under a federal biotechnology program that served as the State's first bioremediation initiative. This initiative paved the way for her career in sustainable development. Later in 2006, in collaboration with Todd and other ecological engineering colleagues, Lauren founded Roth Ecological Design Int. LLC (REDI) to build the Pacific Region business. Lauren holds a B.A. in Environmental Science with a specialty in Water and Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master of Science in Oceanography from the University of Hawaii.

Lauren and her REDI team provide consulting, project management, design/build and operational services for natural systems technologies for stormwater and onsite wastewater treatment as well as for sustainable resource management. She and her team won a Regional U.S. EPA Award for the innovative and cost-savings nature of the design of the 5th Hole Water Feature at Hualalai Resort, Hawai'i. Lauren is also the Co-Founder of Ke Kai Ola Farms, a research and development 501 c3 non-profit, focused on the advancement of sustainable saltwater bioremediation systems and integrated marine aquaculture techniques.

Lauren serves on various professional committees including Honolulu City and County Sustainable Building Task Force of which she chairs the Water and Wastewater Sub-Committee. Lauren is also actively involved in initiatives for the advancement of sustainable, water and waste systems for affordable housing and community development projects both for Hawaii and abroad, specifically for developing nations.
